The basis on which Amara Electrical Contractors Ltd quotes for and carries out work.
1. About us
Amara Electrical Contractors Ltd, 8 Amsom Close, Somerford, Congleton, CW12 4QE. NICEIC Approved Contractor, registration 041430. Public liability insurance of £5,000,000 is held.
2. Quotations
Quotations are free and are given after a site visit wherever the work requires one. A quotation is a fixed price for the scope described in it. Work that is only found once the installation is opened up, or work you ask us to add, will be quoted separately before it is carried out.
3. Deposits and payment
No deposit is required, including on full rewires. Payment is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed something different with you in writing. Fault-finding call-outs are charged at an hourly rate, which is made clear before we attend.
4. Access and the site
You agree to provide reasonable access to the property and to the areas where work is to be carried out. Please tell us about anything that affects safe working, such as asbestos, structural issues or previous alterations you are aware of. Where possible we restore power to the property at the end of each working day.
5. Making good
We work as tidily as the job allows and clean down on completion. Unless the quotation says otherwise, making good is limited to filling and basic repair around the areas we have worked on; decorating and finishing are not included.
6. Certification
Work is carried out to the 18th Edition wiring regulations and appropriate certification is issued on completion, along with any notification required by our certification body.
7. Guarantees
Full rewires are covered by a 10-year electrical installation certificate. Certain products and components carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty. As a NICEIC Approved Contractor, our work is also covered by NICEIC's 6-year insurance-backed guarantee should the company ever cease trading. Guarantees do not cover damage, misuse or alterations carried out by others.
8. Cancellation
Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our business premises, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to begin work within that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work carried out up to the point of cancellation.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out, and our insurance cover applies as stated above. Your statutory rights are not affected.
10. Complaints and law
If something is not right, contact us first on 07946 541693 or michael@amaraelectrical.co.uk and we will put it right. As a NICEIC Approved Contractor we also fall within NICEIC's complaints procedure. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
