Pre-1960s rubber and lead cable
Common in Cheshire cottages and terraces. The insulation hardens and cracks, and disturbing it during other work turns a small job into an urgent one.

EICRs for Cheshire landlords and agents
Rented homes need a satisfactory EICR every five years and mains-wired interlinked alarms. We inspect, code the findings C1, C2, C3 or FI, and explain which items are legally required before the report can be marked satisfactory.
Remedial work is quoted separately so you are never obliged to hand the follow-up work to the inspector. Most landlords do, but the choice stays yours.
